Ostrich Country (1968)

The ‘ostrich country’ of the title lies somewhere between Suffolk and Cloud Cuckoo Land. Pegasus Baines is at least a couple of decades ahead of his time in trying to become a celebrity chef. He is also chronically indecisive and cannot decide which of two women he should marry. His grip on reality is somewhat wobbly, which gives rise to fantasies of time travel and nuclear threats.
