David's latest novel, Cupid's Dart has been voted Comedy Book of the Year and Book of the Year by the government sponsored private company, Betty Bookmark, which devotes much of its activity to promoting literacy, especially among the young. It nominates fourteen books in different categories. Cupid's Dart beat books by Marian Keyes, Ricky Gervais and Jamie Oliver, among others, to achieve the overall title.
