The Reginald Perrin Ominibus, which contains the three original Reggie Perrin books, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, The Return of Reginald Perrin and The Better World of Reginald Perrin, was reissued this spring to coincide with the transmission of the modern series. There are no plans to turn the modern series into books. The original books came before the series, and David doesn't believe that it works the other way round.
When the omnibus edition was first released, one of the salesmen dealing with it read it and noticed that the books were in the wrong order. Book three came after book one with book two at the end. Tempting to leave it that way and call it Perrinesque, but in fact all the books were recalled and pulped.
